The PERFECT Chocolate Chip Cookie

Okay, okay, I know you clicked on this post to see the recipe so I will spare you the 3 page long story about how I got this recipe. Instead I will just tell you that it is easy, quick, and incredibly tasty. It has definitely become a staple in my house for when we need a sugary treat to bring to parties or anything else!

Recipe:

2 ⅓ cups flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 tablespoon cornstarch

½ teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon vanilla

¾ cup butter melted (cooled until opaque -- about 5 minutes)

1 cup brown sugar

½ cup granulated sugar

1 egg room temp

1 egg yolk room temp

1 ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Melt butter and let cool for about 5 minutes

  2. Mix sugars, eggs, and vanilla in a bowl until combined.

  3. Add in butter once cooled and mix.

  4. Mix together dry ingredients.

  5. Fold dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.

  6. Add chocolate chips (measure with your heart).

  7. Form balls of dough and place on parchment lined cookie sheet or in a parchment lined tupperware.

  8. Place in fridge or freezer for 30-60 minutes. (I usually do 20-30 minutes in the freezer or 30-40 minutes in the fridge).

  9. Heat oven to 325 F and bake cookies on parchment lined sheet for 13-15 minutes.

  10. The longer the cookies freeze the longer they will take to cook so just keep an eye and they will be done when they are golden brown on the edges.

  11. ENJOY!
